Finding leads in comments without a social media manager

Paying someone to scroll comments by hand is expensive and unreliable. Here is how to do without it.

What actually gets lost

Under a successful post there are usually few real buying questions — dozens among thousands of comments. Those are exactly the ones that sink under emoji, jokes and arguments.

The problem is not the amount of work but its shape: a person has to read everything to find a handful of messages.

Words worth searching for

  • Price and money: how much, price, cost, quote
  • Purchase: buy, order, in stock
  • Logistics: shipping, deliver, the name of a city or country
  • Contact: link, where to order, DM

What you can skip

Threads the author already replied to can usually be skipped — the conversation has started. The same goes for repetitive reactions without a question: good for reach, useless for sales.

That cuts the reading down several times over, and a post takes minutes instead of an hour.

When tooling starts to pay off

Once a post passes a few hundred comments, or once posts go out regularly, manual reading stops scaling. From that point it is cheaper to collect the comments in one breakdown, search by words, and put the active posts on automatic refresh. If you do not want to read the list either, run AI and turn on “AI is watching”: a ping only when you should reply.
