How to export and read the comments under a TikTok post
Most people read comments in the app — and almost always miss something. Here is how to collect them in full without overspending.
Step 1. Get the right link
In the TikTok app tap Share under the video and choose Copy link. You will get either a long tiktok.com/@user/video/… address or a short vt.tiktok.com one — both work, the short one is resolved automatically.
A link from the web version works too. What matters is that the post is public: private accounts and deleted videos cannot be analysed.
Step 2. Check for free first
Before spending any balance, paste the link and look at the metadata card. It shows the author, description, metrics and sound — enough to confirm you opened the post you meant to.
This helps most when you have many links and some are stale: the mismatch is obvious before you pay.
Step 3. Full collection
Running the full breakdown collects top-level comments along with their replies. The author's own replies are marked, so you can see where a conversation started and where a question went unanswered.
You are charged for the comments actually collected, not for the size of the pack. A post with 800 comments costs 800.
Step 4. What to do with the result
- Search for words that signal intent: price, how much, where to buy, shipping
- Save the breakdown to your library so you can return to it any time
- If the post keeps gaining views, switch on automatic refresh
- If you do not want to read the list yourself, run AI and turn on “AI is watching”
- Need a file or an import into your own system? The same cabinet token returns JSON and covers library, auto-refresh, AI, and keyword alerts with a webhook
Common mistakes
- Analysing a post within the first hour: the comments are not there yet and you will have to repeat it
- Trusting the app at thousands of comments — the order shifts and some threads never open
- Ignoring replies: the important part is often the second or third message in a thread
